My solo vacay to Germany and Brussels came and went…having feelings.
It was a gray day. That’s all I will say on that note because I have heard nobody likes a blog post FILLED with complaints. But I will say this. My dear friend Shauna put things into perspective for me over the phone with regards to my financial situation by telling me about her friend in Greece. At this moment, this friend has been unemployed since August. This is not by choice. In fact, the last job she went out for is at a gas station** and she didn’t get the gig.
I am fine. I will be fine. If not for anything else, I live in a cool city and I work in a picturesque small Basque town. I am surrounded by mountains, and there beauty is accentuated by the recent snowfall. Not to mention, since my first day working at the school, I have been able to enjoy watching the fog roll over the terrain just after sunrise. Something I honestly have never seen in my life!
Keep up the good looks, Spain. It’s only a matter of time before I can get to know you a little better.
**While this is a perfectly admirable position, what with the low pay and odd hours, it is nobody’s dream job.
